MemorialsCelebration of Life Services

Trinity Memorial is a place of healing.  We care for one another in times of grief.  We know that if one member of the “Body of Christ” is suffering we all suffering and if one member is rejoicing then all rejoice.  This is the true nature of community and family.  We are a safe place to grieve.   One of our important ministries is the Celebration of Life services and care.

The first part of this ministry is hosting a service in our sanctuary, led by our minister. The Rev. Bill Booth offers grief counselling and support and helps the family prepare for a meaning celebration of their loved ones.   Our memorial hosting teams meets with the family as well to prepare the church for the service and provide a welcoming compassionate presence.  We offer our fellowship room for a reception after the service.  During the service some families will wish the presence of the cremated remains and some will wish to have a full casket and the presence of the body.  We are able to accommodate either choice.

Our minister is available to meet the family in local cemeteries for an interment as part of the service.  Our compassion does not end with a Celebration of life service.  On the Sunday, nearest to Nov 1st, All Saints Day, we welcome families to join us as we light a candle to remember our loved ones.  The name of each person for whom we have held a service is read aloud by children as we light a candle to remember and acknowledge their presence with God.

We belief in Resurrection but do not claim to know the true nature of what life with God is like. Our focus remains on the faithfulness of God to us in life and in life beyond death.

As we near Christmas we acknowledge that the season can be hard for those grieving a recent loss.  Each December we host a service to help people live fully through the Christmas season.
