Annual General Meeting –

BC Conference United Church Women Women’s Ministry Network

Thursday April 17 at Golden Ears United Church 22165 Dewdney Trunk Rd. Maple Ridge

For 55 years the UCW has been the thread that has connected the women of the United Church from coast to coast and North to South. The UCW has joined the women of congregations across Canada for the total mission of the Church.

Now in 2017, we mark the 55th Anniversary by "Celebrating Spirit". It is good to remember the past, to listen to the present, and to look to the future.

Guest Speakers:

Heather Autio: Heather is a wife, mother, student and Medical Lab Technologist. She has been a member of Trinity Memorial in Abbotsford, BC, since 1991. She became a UCW member because she strongly believes that women are providing the everyday needs of both the Church and the Community. Next year Heather's daughter will become an ordained Minister of the United Church of Canada.

Rebecca Irwin: Rebecca was born and educated in the U.S.A. She studied at a Seminary in New York. On a challenge she agreed to go as a missionary to India at the age of 24. There she met her husband, Hugh. Together they were missionaries in India for a total of 11 years. Rebecca has been a UCW member for 55 years. Rebecca attends Crescent United Church in South Surrey.

Clare Walker: Clare is a newcomer to Victoria, BC having moved from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario in January, 2016. She has been a member of UCW for 40 years holding positions in the Algoma Presbyterial and the London Conference UCW. Clare was on the National UCW Executive for 5 years. She is a member of the Cordova Bay United Church in Victoria, BC.
